Hello!

My name is Kirsty, Creator of Wild Venture Scotland.

I grew up in the Trossachs on a farm and have always had a passion for exploring the outdoors from a young age, being outside with nature is where you would find me, if I wasn’t helping out with the animals and farm chores. Being part of the Girl Guides as well gave me that chance to get out and learn whilst exploring different areas and giving me that insight to camping and the great outdoors. After the changes and hurdles of life I found a passion for exploring Scotland and its mountains searching for calmness and solitude in beautiful destinations.

9 years ago, I started hillwalking exploring my local hills, the Campsie Fells, after rescuing a dog which needed a lot of exercise! This led me to my never-ending venture to different locations throughout Scotland with the best hiking buddy I could ask for, Buster, my K9 companion. From bagging Munros, Corbetts, Grahams and anything with elevation, Wild Camping on the Mountain tops, wild swimming in lochs and making memories for life, I discovered a passion that made me feel most alive and where I longed to be. I set up hiking groups meeting fellow outdoor enthusiasts which got me started on this amazing journey to becoming a Summer Mountain Leader, sharing my passion and teaching skills with others along the way.

After years of dedication and perfecting my personal skill set, I passed my assessment and qualification to become a Summer Mountain Leader. At the beginning of 2022 I set up Wild Venture Scotland, guiding groups through the mountains, teaching navigation courses and hill skills and lots of bespoke days. It has been amazing sharing my passion and meeting so many keen to head to the hills safely.

It’s a never-ending adventure, and one I would be delighted to take you on!
