                                                                                                                                                                                                          What the day includes -
We will meet at 8.30am and start our walk through the magnificent pinewoods then making our way up to Coire Ruadh and pulling up to the plateau. From here you can see the vast land of the cairngorms and the rolling plateaus of many other munros in the area. The contrast between the east and west in unreal and the gorms really do make you feel tiny!
We will continue to the summit and enjoy a well deserved break & bite to eat. There will be plenty breaks and photo opportunities on this walk.
We will descend back down the same way at a leisurely pace to suit all. Ben Lomond Voluntary Path Maintenance Day

Ben Lomond Voluntary Path Maintenance Day
Rowardennan / Ben Lomond
25/09/24
9am - 4.30pm
Over the recent years hillwalking has became increasingly popular with thousands visiting and hiking to the summits each year. Human foot fall over time has a massive impact on erosion and expansion of paths, scaring the mountain side and effecting the mountains very own fragile eco systems.
In many areas we are lucky enough to have an amazing team of workers and volunteers who maintain our mountain paths but it’s a never ending job and one with more hands the better!
So how can us as hikers and mountain leaders help out and get involved ?
Come and join us for the day, with Wild Venture Scotland and Ben Lomond NTS ( National Trust for Scotland )
A days volunteering - learn how the mountain paths are maintained throughout different sections , what tools we use and help out maintaining a section of the mountain path.
You don’t need experience as you will learn new skills on the day, a good amount of fitness is required as after all everything is moved and maintained by muscles!
If required the group can be split into lower and higher sections on the hill to suit the full groups abilities.
It’s a great day on the hills and one you certainly won’t forget, helping to protect the mountains and paying back a little from the many of adventures they take us on.
This is a VOLUNTARY day so no cost required to join, if our date doesn’t suit you can check out the NTS webpage and sign up to volunteer on many of their other days throughout the year.
All work tools and safety equipment will be supplied - please wear some old hillwalking clothes and boots you don’t mind getting dirty. We will meet at 8am and from there start our hike , pulling up the shoulder of Am Bathach pretty much right from the roadside. A fine grassy ridge takes us over to the Corbett summit, a more interesting approach to our munro.
From Am Bathach we will descend to Bealach a Choinich and continue towards Ciste Dubh, though one of the smaller Munros in the area it’s an impressive mountain! After a well deserved break and bite to eat we will retrace our steps back down to the bealach and pick up the path for a walk back out down the Glen and back to the cars. There will be plenty photo opportunities and breaks throughout the day.
This event is ideal for those with previous hiking experience and a good amount of hill fitness.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                          What the day includes -
With a different start and end point for this hike, we will arrange to meet at the end location for some car shuffling and sharing in the morning. Once we are at the start point we are straight onto the hill with a steep and continuous pull up to the bealach.
Once we have reached the bealach we will stop for a quick refuel before making our way to the first Munro of the day, Saileag. The views throughout the day are outstanding from the surrounding mass of mountains and the loch below.
Onto the second Munro of the day with a short and simple arete taking us up to the summit of Sgurr a Bhealaich Dheirg. From here we will retrace our steps and then descend to the Col for the pull up to our final Munro of the day, Aonach Meadhoin. The day isn’t quite done yet , to avoid the steep flanks we will continue along the ridge line and over a subsidiary Munro top before descending back down towards the Cluanie Inn.
Once back down at the Cluanie Inn we will jump into the cars and head back back to the starting point to retrieve the rest of the cars.
There will be plenty of breaks and photo opportunities throughout the day.
This hike is suited to those with previous hiking experience and a good amount of hill fitness is a must!

With a high level starting point for these hills the Ascent each day is minimal for what you are taking in. What the day includes -
Meeting in the morning we will car share down to the starting point just to save a few extra Km at the end of the day.
Covering rocking summits and featureless plateaus most of the day, these munros don’t give off the mountain appearance compared to other ranges but make for an excellent day out on the hills hiking over the vast rolling plateaus of the east.

The views over Loch Tay & The Trossachs are spectacular and in sight as we make our way up to Ben Lawers, the 10th highest Munro in Scotland!
From here we can see the end point with one more Munro to Bag on our travels. Reaching the 5th and last Munro of the day, Beinn Ghlas it’s great to be able to look back over the ridge where from where you first started the day.
Dropping down through the Nature reserve and reaching the car park to collect the cars and return the drivers back down to the Ben Lawers pub.
You must have previous hiking experience and good hill fitness to be able to attend this event.

Isle Of Skye Weekend - SOLD OUT

Isle of Skye Weekend
09/08/24 - 12/08/24
3-night accommodation ….2 Guided hill days taking in 2 Munros
Fancy a weekend Munro bagging on the impressive Black Cuillin mountains, Isle of Skye? No climbing or scrambling involved.
The Cuillin Ridge is climbers paradise and many Munro Baggers who prefer having two feet firm on the ground leave these mountains to last or avoid them all together. But there are plenty of opportunities to still bag some Munros in the Cuillin Ridge which only involve hill walking to reach the summit and all under the safety of a qualified mountain leader.

Stob Ghabhar & Stob a CHoire Odhair - £55 per person
16KM / 8-9 HOURS / 1239M ASCENT
Two Munros of the Black Mount, these mountains make for a great day out in the hills with some outstanding views and a fun mini ridge in between. A great event for those with previous hill experience as we are covering steep and rocky terrain.
What the day includes -
We will meet at 8.30am and start our walk into the hills, starting off on a land rover track before turning up in to the coire and onto the mountain path. A steep pull up for our first Munro of the day, Stob a Choire Odhair. Once we have reached the summit we will enjoy a well deserved break and bite to eat.
We will head down to the bealach whilst taking in the views over to the other Black Mount Munros and the surrounding mountains of Glencoe. Another steep pull up to our second Murno with some thrilling views back down into Allt Coirean Lochain and a fun mini ridge to scramble over before reaching the Munro summit. The views from here are outstanding once again with never ending mountains all around to the glistening lochans over the empty grounds of Rannoch Moor.
There will be plenty breaks and photo opportunities throughout the day.
Heading off hill we gradually make our way down to the top of a stunning waterfall, here the descent is steep and eroded until we reach the foot of the falls. From here we have a short walk and river crossing to catch the main path back out to the land rover track.
meeting location and kit list will be provided upon booking.

We will meet in the morning nice and early to car share back to the starting point of the walk, this saves a massive road walk at the end of a long day. From the starting point we will have a walk in along the landrover track to warm up and take us to the foot of our first Munro which we will ascend and stop for a good break before making our way along with ridge line that lays ahead.
Lots of descending and ascending throughout the day along the grassy ridge with minor scrambling along the way. A good pace will need to be maintained to achieve this day in good timing! Though there will be an option to cut the day short if required and descend from the 4th Munro.

Ben Nevis - Britain’s highest mountain!
Following the footsteps of history hiking up the pony track (mountain path). We will start from Glen Nevis Visitor Centre meeting at 8am. From a well maintained mountain path we move onto the zig zags where the terrain turns a lot rockier underfoot, time for the final push to the summit and soon to be some of the highest people in the UK, with 360* views if we get lucky enough with the weather! Learn about some of the history of Ben Nevis and its summit features whilst enjoying a well deserved break with lots of photo opportunities.
After we have refuelled and had a break we will make our way back down the pony track back to Glen Nevis.
