3 nights dark sky & aurora chasing
slideshow evening - The Northern Lights explained
We will meet at our accommodation base at 4pm on the Friday evening and have a chat about the weekend plans whilst getting to know everyone else in the group. Once settled in to the accommodation there will be chance to learn about The Northern Lights, how they are formed, forecast and displayed which gives many of us this amazing bucket list dream to witness such an amazing natural phenomenon , from right here in Scotland! Though if the forecasts are in our favour we may just find ourself outside on the first night to chase them!
Day 1 - On the Saturday morning we will head out to hike one of the Iconic mountains of Assynt. This historic landscape is filled with amazing geology and history which you will learn about throughout the day. A landscape like no other, our aim will be to hike up Stac Pollaidh but will all come down to weather conditions and a lower level alternative may be put in place if we cant get up high.
We sadly won’t be able to reach the true summit on Stac Pollaidh due to there being a graded rock climb to reach it but its other summit ( East top ) for walkers offers the same spectacular view.
