ASCENT - 1193M
TIME - 6-8 HOURS
Ben Starav is a magnificent mountain with some outstanding views all around, Rising from the south shore of Loch Etive this mountain makes for a great day out on the hills.
What the day includes -
We will meet at 8am at the car park and start our walk, a good KM on flat terrain before we approach the shoulder of Ben Starav.
From here we have a good push up to the summit continuing up the shoulder , being one of the highest Munros in the area the effort put in is rewarded with stunning views down Loch Etive and the surrounding mountains.
As we gain height the terrain starts to change with a Boulder field approach to the fine summit. We will enjoy a well deserved break and bite to eat whilst capturing the rugged landscape.
Instead of heading back the same way, a nice circuit by Descending to the bealach and then into the Coire for the walk back out.
This day is suited to those with previous hiking experience and a good amount of summer hill fitness. We advise everyone who is hiking in winter to have been on a winter skills course.
Meeting location and kit list will be provided upon booking.
You MUST have your own B2 winter boots. You can hire these for a day from the likes of Tiso, if you would like more information on this please send an email.
