ASCENT - 932M
DISTANCE - 14KM
TIME - 6/8 HOURS
Join us for the day for a winters hike bagging one of the South Torridon Munros. Maol Chean Dearg makes for a brilliant day out on the hills with incredible views over the Torridon giants.
What the day includes -
We will meet in the morning and start our hike making our way up the Glen, a few KMs walk in to warm up the legs at the start of the day before we start ascending.
Before we approach Coire Fionnaraich we will head off the main path and start getting some ascent in, though this route makes for a really nice gradient for the full day.
Once we reach the Bealach you will be drawn in to the spectacular views of An Ruadh Stac , an impressive rocky Corbett whilst lays next to our Munro and will be in sight for the remainder of the day, giving you more reasons to head back to this breathtaking area to explore deeper.
A short steep section for another gradual but rocky ascent for the final push upto the summit of Maol Chean Dearg. We will enjoy a well deserved break and bite to eat whilst taking soaking up the surrounding views.
Retracing our steps back out the same way we came in for a leisurely walk back to the cars.
This event is ideal for those with previous summer hiking experience and some winter experience. We advise everyone who is hiking in winter to have been on a winter skills course.
You MUST supply your own B2 winter boots for this event. You can hire these for the day from the likes of Tiso ( if you require further information on this please send us an email )
We can supply - Crampons / Ice axe / helmet
